Back in 18th century Zanzibar was a base for slaves trade in eastern coastal of Africa.This guided tour created to show and explain in details about the famous slaves trade happened in the islands.
During the tour we cover some slavery sites located in southern-central and in stone town such as Former slaves market,Dhow harbour to name few.The trip proceeds to the Northern west at Mangapwani ,the village at the edge of the ocean where we will visit the Coral caves and slave chambers believed to hide hundreds of slaves after first slavery abolishment and smuggled away during monsoons.
Note
- Lunch not included however can be booked on request at Serena mangapwani beach restaurant
- Please wear conservately,women should cover the shoulders and below the knees(skirts or trousers)
- closed walking or hiking shoes are advised
- Wear a hat,sunglasses and sunscreen
